fall*

Thanks for being here for another seasonal update from my corner of the creative world. As always, I'm sharing what I've been making, what's been inspiring me, and where this pattern-design journey is headed—still a work in progress, still figuring it out as I go.

Your kind words and curiosity continue to mean so much. Here's what's been happening lately.

A look at this seasons
create, grow, and inspire.

Fresh from the studio — a peek at what I’ve been working on, from repeat patterns to playful sketches and new ideas taking shape.

This fall, I jumped into a creative challenge called Botanical Beasties—hosted by a handful of talented artists I've admired from afar for a while. It was exactly the kind of creative push I needed, especially with senior year kicking off for my girls and the juggling act that comes with it 🍂

Each week brought a new prompt pairing animals with botanicals, and I worked my way through: crows + cherries, caterpillars + nasturtiums, cardinals + conifers, frogs + foxglove, and rabbits + red clover. There's something about working within constraints that helps me focus—and these little pairings gave me just enough direction while leaving plenty of room to play. 🐦

I'm already thinking ahead to winter, when I'll circle back to refine these designs for wallpaper on Spoonflower.

grow*

Updates on where things are headed — new designs, product development, and the (sometimes wobbly) path of building something meaningful.

In my summer update, I talked about slow and steady growth—and this fall has been a perfect reminder that slow and steady really is good growth. Sometimes the path forward means pausing, reassessing, and choosing quality over speed. 🍂

I've spent a good chunk of time this spring and summer researching and sampling overseas manufacturers in Asia, but with the current tariff situation being what it is, I've decided to pause that direction for now. Instead, I'm focusing on European and domestic options—which feels like the right move, even if it means things are taking longer than I'd hoped.

The good news. . . I just sent out an order for stone-washed linen tea towels and napkins 🎉 They should arrive mid-to-late November, just in time for the holidays. Stone-washed linen has this beautiful soft quality right from the start, and it only gets better—softening with each wash and becoming more absorbent over time. I'm keeping this run limited as an experiment to see what resonates. Once they're ready, they'll be available on Etsy, and I'll send out a newsletter with all the details. 📬 In the meantime below is a peek at what is to come.

inspire*

What’s been sparking inspiration lately — art, artists, books, music, textures, colors, and creative details that make me pause and look a little longer.

I had the chance to visit New York City this fall and caught the final days of "Dear New York"—a two-week art installation by Brandon Stanton, the creator of Humans of New York. The project transformed Grand Central Terminal into this massive love letter to New Yorkers, clearing the entire station of advertisements for the first time in its history and replacing them with thousands of photographs and stories from the Humans of New York archive, along with works by professional and student artists.

Walking through it was something special—large-scale projections, immersive displays on 150 digital screens, and artwork filling the main concourse, Vanderbilt Hall, and even down into the subway station. It felt like the heartbeat of the city, all in one place. If you have a few minutes, take a look—it really was a wonderful tribute. 💙
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

cheers until next time!
